Melbourne: Exploring the City

6.24.2013

I must apologize for being so absent  We were blessed to have Aunt Carolyn and Kelli here with us for a couple weeks so instead of pouring ourselves into telling you our story, we were busy living it.  Much more to come on their little stay, but I thought I would wrap up our Melbourne trip for you all.

One of our favourite parts of the trip was just wondering the streets and taking in the beautiful architecture, breathing in the autumn air and stopping by cute shops for a look.
We explored the city via the train and tram system.  I think Melbourne public transit is wonderful and if you are visiting this city this is how you should get around.  You don't have to worry about parking and it is very reasonable.
We got to visit another room of the "house" at Hillsong Melbourne.
Papa Wutke, we stopped here for you!  This company has been established since 1910 and there were so many hats that would have fit so nicely into the Wutke collection.
While in Melbourne we found our place to stay via airbnb.com  This was the most incredible experience and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for affordable accommodation.  We booked with Barbara and her dog Henry.  Barbara is the nicest woman, such a wonderful host.  You can check out the room we stayed in here.  Barbara had our fridge stocked with everything we needed for breakfast, a clean and warm space to sleep, and a few other special treats to make our stay so enjoyable.  If you are are headed to Melbourne, you should stay with Barbara.  And while you are there, please tell her hi from the Wutkes!
Melbourne we loved you and hope to return someday soon!  ♥  The Kids Down Under
